Updates to landscaping

Hi everyone, a quick update on our HOA maintained landscaping.

As many of you know, we have a limited budget and written in the neighborhood rules we can increase the dues by a maximum amount of 5% per year (about $15 per property).

Our costs have increased every year and even with the increase from last year we were close to even vs our expenses. This pays for one pine straw application per year, one round of annual plants being planted and basic lawn maintenance.

Fortunately, some good news – this year we have some new income from two sources – excess from property transfer income (when a property changes hands the HOA receives a fee) and also some excess from RV/trailer fines. We intend to invest this excess in our landscaping. This would happen soon as the weather cools down and is better for planting.

Deneen (an avid gardener in the neighborhood) has volunteered to assist. The goal is to come up with a plan then implement the plan with our current landscapers to make our front area presentable year round – similar to what you see next door at Riverchase and the Massey Enclave.

If anyone would like to assist please contact me directly I’m now the point person for this, or 803 701 0046.
